Well, lot goes behind the small business!!
I'm Rupal Asodaria aka face behind this mom made brand NursElet®. They say necessity is the mother of invention, and for this homegrown brand, it's true.
I was fortunate enough to breastfeed both my children for two years, a beautiful gift I was so grateful to give them. I noticed, though, that I was slowly developing an acute back pain and neck strain due to improper posture and unclear latch while feeding my little one. When nothing worked out to relieve and soothe my pain, I had to invent something.
I never knew what was even called BOBBIN in the sewing machine, forget about that sewing skill before launching this business.
My Grand Pa used to tell us to learn this very essential skill in life when I was young and finally, I took a plunge and decided to learn sewing. I took some sewing classes in our local library (yes, they offer it!) and I bought my first sewing machine from Costco. After working on the product which can solve the struggle of all nursing mothers all around the world, I made a prototype of NursElet® Nursing Bracelet after several trials, errors, frustrations but determination!
After getting feedback from local pediatrician, lactation consultants, midwives and lot of new moms, I launched this patent pending baby product “NursElet® The Nursing Bracelet holds your shirt up during breastfeeding or pumping. When not in use, wear it as stylish bracelet to remind which breast to use next." in October 2015. Within a few days, I got a word from #1 National Baby Magazine Fit Pregnancy and Baby that they would like to feature my invention in their upcoming issue of Feb 2016. It was a dream comes true!
Meanwhile I received an order from TheBabyGuyNYC over 1000+ units of NursElets within less than 60 days starting my business. Definitely, you'd accept the order and dance!
How cool! Well, I was the only person who had to execute in little under a month with 2 year toddler! I had sewn days and nights while being a stay at home mom to two little boys. I had sewn more than 2717 feet (828 m), the tallest building Burj Khalifa in the world in less than 20 days!! My poor hands. I had survived many mishaps poking sewing needles into my eyes.
I think till date this is my unbelievable adventure that I might not do again!

When I went to ship the box to FedEx, FedEX employee asked me what were they? I was speechless. I couldn’t reply and started crying, I said please don’t ask me what were they? After telling her what were they, FedEx recognized my small business and published my story in their homepage.
Meanwhile I got a chance to meet Hollywood actor breastfeeding advocate Alyssa Milano who had sent me her handwritten note on NursElet few days back. She is a great supporter of breast feeding and hence my mission.
Due to my social media marketing efforts, things were started falling in place. Words of mouth helped the spread of NursElet all around the world. Since then I’m shipping NursElet to more than 20 countries.
My mission is to offer this multifunctional product to all nursing mothers to simplify their early and important years of motherhood. Many mothers give up breastfeeding because of back pain or neck pain, my hope and intention behind this product is that at least no mother should give up breastfeeding because of this issue.
